The reason is as follows:

Blogger is owned and run by Google who (along with Yahoo) I recently discovered have very suspect practices in China with regards to censorship and human rights violations (two things which I will not tolerate).

For email I still have a Gmail account but I have stopped sending from there.

What's in a name?

Introducing Desmond Cosmo Pedro Dyson:


Desmond is from the Latin mundus and implies man of the world, from the Earth.

Cosmo is from the Greek cosmos meaning order, however cosmos is commonly used as a synonym of the universe and the significance in this name is that of the world is also of the cosmos.

Perdro is the Spanish form of Peter, in homage to Danielle's late uncle Peter Dyson.

On Wednesday November 23rd at 8:10 am, the newest Dyson was born. Danielle gave birth to a healthy boy at our home in Guelph, Canada. He weighed in at a respectable 3.94 kg (8 lbs 11 oz).

For those of you who haven't been here this is our home. This picture was taken last March, but it looks pretty much like this right now except the snowman awaits constuction.

Trip to Japan

I just recently returned from spending close to two weeks in Fukuoka, Japan. The purpose of the trip was to attend the Space Generation Congress as well as the International Astronautical Congress. If you are interested check the link for projects.
